Accessories complete the look. I’ve added a pair of stunning platform ankle boots, a pair of chandelier earrings, and a fabulous fringed bag.

Daytime Outfit for Rectangle Body Shapes…

Daytime chic for Straight Body Shapes…

I’m out to do some personal shopping today for a client who loves neutral colours. Her favourites are browns and beiges, so I’ve put together this outfit for a smart-casual daytime occasion.

Straight body?  Choose straight cuts…

This outfit is particularly suited to a lady with a straight or rectangle body shape. I’ve chosen pieces with simple, straight cuts which are both slimming and lengthening.

Starting with a fabulous pair of tailored trousers by Stella McCartney, I’ve added a striped Tee as a nod to one of this season’s key trends: ‘stripes.’

Over the top, a gorgeous kimono sleeved jumper from Fenn Wright Manson with a V neck and simple tie waist which should be worn loose and at a diagonal on a straight body shape.

Clever accessories can lengthen and slim…

Accessories complete the look. I’ve added a pair of stunning platform courts from Carvela to lengthen the legs, a long chain and pearl beaded necklace to slim the body, and a leather and suede satchel bag.

Simple. Stylish. Chic. Perfect for any daytime occasion.

Hope you like it!

Looking after children? What to wear over Half Term?

Stylish Outfit for Mum at Half Term

It’s Half Term and many mums will be at home with the children, so today’s outfit inspiration is especially for them.

As a mum, you want to be casual and comfortable when you’re out and about with the children, whether it’s going to the park, running errands going on special trips to museums and theme parks or just popping round to friends for a coffee and a play-date.

Choose colours that make you look great!

Find out which colours flatter you most with a Colour Analysis

I’ve chosen a palette of this season’s favourite colours (camel, coral, apricot, peach and orange) and put together a look that is both practical and stylish. The colours would suit a lady with either ‘Warm’ or ‘Deep & Warm’ colouring.

Starting with a pair of chocolate brown cotton trousers, I’ve layered a coral long sleeve Tee from Dorothy Perkins. Over the top, a cosy and easy to wear long boyfriend cardigan from Oasis.

Comfortable Boots for Busy Mums

If you’re out and about you’ll need comfortable shoes. I’ve picked these gorgeous knee high buckle detail boots from John Lewis. Just tuck your trousers into them for instant chic!

Don’t Forget the Finishing Touches…

Finish the look with this pretty bedouin scarf and a stunning ring. Keep your hands free with this super stylish and fashionable leopard print cross-body bag from Juicy Couture.

All set and ready to go! Have a great Half Term!

No Waist…No Worries! Perfect outfit idea for Rectangle body shapes

What to wear if you have no waist?

I recently worked with a lovely lady who was concerned that she had no waist. Her body was straight up and down from the shoulders to the hips and she was finding it difficult to buy comfortable casual clothes that made the most of her figure and were stylish but also a little ‘dramatic’ and ‘edgy.’ She wanted to break out of her classic look and try something a little different.

Classic with a modern twist…

Today’s outfit inspiration is for busy ladies who want a stylish daytime outfit that has a little ‘edge.’ I’ve taken some classic pieces and added a few twists to give it a more modern look.

Colours for ‘cools’…

I’ve picked a layered tunic outfit idea in a palette of grey and black which would suit a lady with ‘Cool’ colouring.

The outfit consists of a long sleeved sheer T shirt from Mint Velvet worn with a pair of Paul Costelloe Treggings. Over the top, a stunning silk tunic from Mint Velvet with clever vertical colour block detail which is very slimming and gives the illusion of a waist.

Finish the look with a fabulous statement necklace, a studded grab bag from Modalu and these easy to wear boots from Dune.

Perfect for meeting with girlfriends, going out for casual drinks or daytime coffee, or even picking the kids up from school….this outfit will certainly get you noticed…

I hope you like it…

Quick Change! From the office and out to dinner Valentine’s outfit…

Valentine’s Day!  Out on a date straight from work?

Today is Valentine’s and I started to think about all those ladies who need to put together a fabulous outfit very quickly after a busy day at the office.

Classic and chic in the office…

For the office I’ve chosen a classic skirt suit from Hobbs worn with a scoop neck red top, also from Hobbs. I’ve added a fabulous silk scarf, a pair of comfortable and chic patent leather shoes and pulled the look together with an amazing red and black tote bag.

Store your outfit during the day…

During the day keep the earrings, a statement ring and your favourite red lipstick inside the clutch bag. The black leather pencil skirt does not crease easily so fold it neatly and store it with your heels and your clutch bag inside your tote.

Quick change!  From office professional to sexy sophistication…

Now for the quick change. Take off the jacket and skirt and put on the leather pencil skirt with a stunning waist cinching belt. Pop on a pair of glittering dangly earrings, a cocktail ring, your best red lipstick, some sexy leopard print heels and add a red trimmed clutch and your ready to go out.

Hopefully, you won’t have to add your own red rose!

Have a great Valentine’s!

What to wear on a rainy day commute to work….

Rainy Day? Commute in Style…..

Today was a rainy day here in London and so I started to think about all the busy ladies who commute to their jobs everyday and need a cheery outfit to lift their spirits on their way to work. I’ve chosen the classic colour combination of red, white and black which would suit ladies with Clear or Deep colouring, but Cools could wear it too if they opt for reds that have a blue undertone. Stripes are a key trend this season, so I’ve chosen a black ad white striped cardigan and put it with a pair of black bootleg trousers. Both items are from Debenhams.

This look is perfect for Neat Hourglass figures but especially good for Triangles (Pears) as the horizontal stripes will widen the upper body to balance the hips. The trousers have also been chosen with the Triangle in mind. There are no pockets which might draw attention to wider hips and the bootleg cut balances the figure.  The black court shoes (pumps) are from Dune. They are perfect for work as they are neither too high nor too low and would be appropriate in any office.  I’ve added a gorgeous red raincoat from Aquascutum which will brighten any cloudy skies, added a chic patent leather tote and finished the look with a very pretty heart trimmed umbrella as it’s coming up to Valentine’s Day!

Enjoy your commute!

Outfit Inspiration: Rainy Day Commute to Work Outfit

What to wear on the School Run…Outfit for Busy Mums….

Wednesday’s Outfit for Mums on the School Run

Following on from yesterday’s outfit for busy ladies, today I looked at what to wear as a busy mum on the school run.

Simple, Casual Chic for Busy Ladies

My client today was a really natural and casual lady who wanted simple, unfussy and easy to wear clothes. She loved Whitestuff so I’ve chosen items from their latest collection and put them together with a few bits and bobs from Fat Face – also one of her favourite shops.

Romantic Accessories for Valentine’s Day?

I was feeling rather romantic (Valentine’s is not far away) when I put this outfit together, so I went for a pretty pink tunic dress over a lacy camisole and worn with a pair of leggings (but you could substitute jeans if legging aren’t your thing).

Since comfort is also important, and since most little kiddies run about or ride on scooters (or they do at my school!) you’ll need a pair of low heeled or flat boots that are good to chase after them if you need to!

Finish the romantic look off with this very pretty heart necklace and throw on a floral scarf and it’s Springtime at last!

What to wear at home…Outfit for your coffee morning…

Tuesday’s Coffee with Friends Outfit Inspiration

Today was bright and sunny and a perfect day for a bit of pre-shopping for one of my clients who is looking for clothes that are comfortable and stylish to wear at home, when having coffee with friends or when running errands.

Here’s what I came up with:

Easy to wear everyday outfit For Busy Ladies

I love this easy to wear tunic with its gorgeous floral print. It’s comfortable and very practical when worn with these high waisted leggings from Top Shop. It’s still a bit chilly outside, so I added a long waterfall cardigan from Kaliko at John Lewis. And for added comfort whilst running those errands or lounging with friends, these cosy UGG boots do the trick. Finish it off with a stunning pendant and you’re ready for whatever you’ve got to do that day….

How to wear ‘Nautical’ for Redheads

Casual Monday Outfit

Spring is just around the corner (I hope!) and it’s always a good time to get out those striped tops and ‘do a bit of nautical’. The trouble is that if you have Warm colouring those black and white or navy and white stripes with a classic black or beige trench can play havoc with your complexion and make you look really washed out. So what’s a girl to do if she’s got lovely auburn hair and green eyes? I’ve put together this outfit just for you!

Nautical Trend 2011

I’ve chosen a brown cord trench coat worn with gorgeous camel skinny cargo trousers tucked into boots. For that nautical ‘look’ I opted for a long striped tunic from Warehouse worn with this three colour belt. For added cosiness (it’s not Spring quite yet!), I chose a camel coloured boyfriend cardigan from Top Shop and a fabulous fringed scarf from Jane Norman. Throw the look together with a pair of bronze earrings, a cocktail ring and your favourite bag and you’re ready to go out! Fabulous!

Casual Style for Sundays….

Casual Sunday Outfit

What to wear to the cinema

I’m out for a walk by the river today and then off to the pictures to see ‘The Kings Speech’, so I rooted around in my wardrobe to find an outfit that would be comfortable to do both. I love H&M so here’s an outfit I put together featuring their collection. I also love these skinny jeans by Seven tucked into boots worn with a casual jacket. I find wearing a coat at the cinema too annoying! I’m getting into the nautical trend for Spring so I chose a striped cardigan with a T underneath and a scarf to keep me cosy down by the river. This outfit is best for neat hourglass body shapes with either Deep or Clear colouring, but Cools could get away with it too if the reds are not too orangey.
